BL05B1

Soft X-ray Chemistry

BL05B1 is a state-of-the-art Soft X-ray beamline designed for measuring masses of products following core excitation. The total ion yield mode near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectra as well as specific dissociation could also be revealed. The energy range covers from 60 to 1400 eV and the resolving power is around 20000. The measured photon flux is greater than 1 × 1012 photons/s/200mA as both slits are set at 10 mm. This beamline is equipped with a reflectron time of flight mass spectrometer to measure the products. The technique of differential pumping was specifically designed for gas molecule research. To study the volatile and semi-volatile molecules, different sample cells as well as heating systems were also involved. User-friendly data acquisition system has been implemented and a well-trained team is ready to provide user support to visiting researchers.
